La bodega (the cellar) is a luxury vineyard accommodation.

La Bodega (The Cellar) is part of a working vineyard, located in the exclusive and private Park Point Peninsula, at the western end of Waiheke Island. Set in wonderful native bush, the Guest Home enjoys panoramic sea views over Matarahui Bay and out to the Coromandel Peninsula.

La Bodega vineyard

La Bodega vineyard was founded in 2015 by Brett Mainey & Veronica Morales, they aimed to cultivate the grapes and create the wine highlighting the unique characteristics of Waiheke Island.

Currently, the vineyard produces Pinot Gris and Syrah in collaboration with the renowned Waiheke Stonyridge Vineyard.

Their wine making excellency and unwavering passion have created our premium La Bodega Pinot Gris Reserva.

The guest home in summer

Our busiest time of the year, yet a peaceful haven far from the hectic crowd.

Enjoy a revitalising stroll through La Bodega vines of Pinot Gris and Syrah, grab your glass of wine and indulge yourself in our charming gardens and the raised-bed veggie and herb garden area.

Vendimia, the annual grapes harvest season occurs in late February and early March, perfect occasion to stay with us and celebrate Waiheke’s wine culture and heritage.

The lounge has a cozy low emission log burner, wool throws and woollen warm rugs, an invitation to relax, curl up with a good book or simply contemplate the boats passing by.

Or, if you are an outdoor lover, light up the alfresco fireplace and enjoy a good Waiheke glass of red wine.

The Guest Home is a perfect romantic and private haven to enjoy spectacular sunrises and peaceful strolls among the gardens and the vines. It is also a wonderful and fun place to host two couples or a young small family.

The Guest Home is a fully self-contained and self-catered guest wing with a luxurious master ensuite and a deck with stunning sea views, full kitchen stocked with homegrown and local breakfast ingredients, a large living room with a cozy log burner, laundry, daytime bathroom and a sunny courtyard with an outdoor open wooden fireplace (Summer use subject to local ban restrictions).

We are 7 minutes by car from Matiatia passenger ferry terminal, 15 minutes from Kennedy Point where the car ferry arrives, 5 minutes’ drive from Mudbrick Vineyard as well as Cable Bay and the Allpress olive groves tasting room.

Rates & Inclusions

2 nights minimum stay.
WINTER SEASON: MAY 2024 TO SEPTEMBER 2024 NZ$325.00 per night - 2 guests

SUMMER SEASON: OCTOBER 2024 to APRIL 2025 NZ$625.00 per night - 2 guests

Rates are per night and for two guests.

A charge of $50.00 per person, per night applies for additional guests.

Payment: All bookings are secured with a credit card
Deposit: 50 percent of the total amount will be charged when you reserve your accommodation. Balance will be payable fourteen days prior to arrival. La Bodega will charge the final balance to the credit card supplied at reservation

What does it include?

Home grown organic ingredients for your self-catered breakfast ready upon arrival, made with a seasonal selection of fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, bacon, ham, milk, free range eggs, honey, butter, coffee and tea (prepared for two people staying two nights).
These prices are all inclusive of premium linen, towels, wifi and one cleaning upon departure.

Cancellations and refunds:

Cancellations: Please go to our Terms of Business section. ALL cancellation reimbursements will incur an administrative fee of NZ$85.00
THERE IS NO REFUND for early departure.

Terms of Business:

-La Bodega is a NON-SMOKING ENVIRONMENT - indoor or outdoor smoking is not permitted. A breach of this will result in a cleaning fee of NZ$500 being applied.

-Sorry, no pets.

-La Bodega is not available for weddings or parties.

-There is no refund for early departure

-Paying your reservation: 50% of the total amount will be charged when you reserve your accommodation. Fourteen days prior to arrival, La Bodega will charge the final balance to the credit card supplied at the moment of reservation.

-La Bodega Terms & Conditions will apply to your rental booking. If you booked through a Third Party then these terms and conditions are to be read in conjunction with that Third Party's terms and conditions. If that Third Party does not provide charges and/or administration fees to you due to a cancellation then the charges and/or administrative fees will be our ordinary charges and/or administrative fees. Same applies to ""early departures", if the Thirf Party does not include a policy about premature departures then our No Refund policy applies. We highly recommend you take a travel insurance to protect you from any unforseen reason that can force you to leave earlier.

Cancellations: Important Notice

Deposits will be refunded for cancellations made more than 21 days before arrival. (Administration fee applies)
Cancellations received between 21 days and 7 days of arrival incur a charge of 50% of the total booking.
Cancellations received less than 7 days before arrival incur a charge of 100% of the total booking.
All cancellation reimbursements will incur an administrative fee of NZ$85.00, this will be charged to the credit card number supplied at the moment of your reservation.

We strongly advise that travel insurance be taken out, in case of unforeseen circumstances.
